How to Grill Beef Ribs


Smoking and grilling are two methods to cook all kinds of ribs. Grilling beef ribs makes them delicious, however, the secret to have the perfect grilled ribs is to let them cook on low heat, till the ribs become tender. The cooking time often varies depending on the size and toughness of the ribs as well as the temperature of the grill. Many find grilling beef ribs difficult, however, once you know how to grill beef ribs, you will opine otherwise.

Grilling Beef Ribs on a Charcoal Grill

This is a different method to grill beef ribs to make the beef ribs succulent. With this method the cooking process is also shortened.

Ingredients
  • Barbecue Sauce 1 cup
  • Ketchup 1 cup
  • Brown Sugar cup
  • Honey 1/3 cup
  • Beef Ribs 1 lb
  • Olive Oil cup
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Method
  • The first and the foremost step is to prepare the charcoal grill.
  • Put the ribs in a pot of water with salt and pepper and place the pot over medium heat. The main objective of this step is to make the meat tender, hence, do not let the water boil.
  • In a bowl mix barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar and honey together. In case you find the sauce very thick, you can thin it with a little water.
  • Drain the water from the ribs and keep them aside to cool.
  • When the ribs cool down, baste them with olive oil and place them on the grill.
  • Let the ribs grill until they are brown on both the sides.
  • When the ribs start to get brown, baste them lightly with olive oil followed by the barbecue sauce we just prepared.
  • Then let the ribs grill for another 5 to 7 minutes and the ribs are ready to be served.
Grilling Beef Ribs on a Gas Grill

Not all of us are lucky and can have meat roasted on charcoal grill, however, even with a gas grill we cannot hold any grouse, as grilling beef ribs on gas grills also gives you tasty succulent meat pieces.

Ingredients
  • Beef Back Ribs 8
  • Ketchup cup
  • Honey cup
  • Green Chillies (diced) 4
  • Onion (chopped) 1
  • Garlic Cloves (minced) 4
  • Cayenne 1 teaspoon
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper 1 teaspoon
  • Dry Mustard 1 teaspoon
Method
  • Trim the excess fat from the beef ribs and rub the ribs with a mixture of salt, pepper and cayenne.
  • Preheat the grill to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Place the ribs on grill over the drip pan and close the lid of the gas grill.
  • Let the ribs cook for 3 to 3 hours at 250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • While the ribs are grilling, prepare the sauce by combining onion, honey, ketchup, chili, garlic and mustard in a sauce pan.
  • Heat the sauce at low temperature and keep stirring till the sauce is even and warm.
  • When the ribs start to become a little brown baste them with the sauce you just prepared.
  • Return the ribs back to the grill and let them grill for 10 minutes.
  • Then coat the ribs again with a thick coat of the sauce and let it grill, till the ribs are well cooked.
There are a few more tips I would like to give you in this article on how to grill beef ribs. The first tip is to place the ribs on the grill with the bone side down. It is also necessary that the ribs should not touch one another. If you are using a charcoal grill, make sure that the meat does not overlap the fire. To know if the ribs are grilled to perfection, when the meat starts to pull away from the end of the bones, understand you can test the rib. The meat should be tender and loose from the bone, when it is cooked.
