Their main ingredient, cocoa, may be bought from suppliers situated in countries known for producing it. They want authentic ingredients in their stocks which is both rich and flavorful. They do not find these in grocery stores and markets. They like to buy ones that has undergone lesser manufacturing process.

Selecting cocoas coming from various producers is quite a challenge if you do not know what to look for. The world leading producer is Cote dIvoire, a country in Africa. It supplies and delivers produce to big manufacturing companies. For small shops, a country like Ecuador is most likely their choice. It can create high quality cocoa which can compete with leading producers. The taste is unique from others which might exactly be what they look for.

Milk quality also is being thought carefully. Some adds whole fat and nonfat milk. Skim milk powder and pasteurized milk are also being offered in others. They also go as far as adding a certain percentage of this dairy produce. It is because some cocoas are much more savored and tasted if only a small amount of milk is poured into them.

Sweeteners are one thing that sweet toothed people likes. For those who are watching their calorie intake but crave sweetness in their drinks, there are sucralose based artificial sweeteners for you. Opting out of it can also be done for those who do not like sweets. Just tell the barista about that.

It is a known in the food industry that coffee enhances the chocolate taste. So shops have some in their menu which has a bit of espresso and the like in them. It can be decaf too by request of the customers. Some also has a drop or teaspoon of liqueur in them. It is a combination which helps enhance the drink. You cannot particularly taste it unless you know your alcohol. Most gets surprised by the good mix these two have. It took a lot of experiments before connoisseurs bring it to the table.
