French Toast Recipes with Vanilla

French toast is one of the most favorite breakfast dishes around the world. It is known by different names in different countries, like 'eggy bread' in Britain, and 'pain perdu' in French. Pain perdu means 'lost bread', signifying that it is a way of using stale bread, which would otherwise be lost. French toast can be sweet or savory, and there can be many variations of the same. Sweet French toast is generally flavored with cinnamon or vanilla, and can served with fruits, berries, cream, Nutella, ice cream, berry sauce, nuts, honey, maple syrup, butter, etc. For savory French toast, generally a pinch of salt is added to the batter. Some herbs like coriander, chives or parsley can also be added. It can be served with bacon, cold meat, sour cream, thick yogurt, salad, baked beans, or sauces like mayonnaise and tomato ketchup.
